Building Products - second cell introduced
As part of a long-term strategic partnership between
Wavin Building Products and McKechnie Automotive and Engineered
Plastics, a second fully automated multi-shot moulding cell has
been installed to manufacture pipe seal assemblies. Due to the strategic
importance of the product to both companies it was decided for "risk
management" reasons to separate the two cells, in order to
underpin continuity of supply in the unlikely event of a major breakdown
or failure.
The cell, which is located at our Stamford Bridge
operation, builds upon the success of the initial cell installation
located at Burnett Polymer Engineering in Northampton. The product
is manufactured to a patented design and is exclusive to Wavin Building
Products - one of Europe's largest and most successful manufactures
of draining products.
